I dragged my non-F1 fan, furthest-you-could-get-from-a-gearhead, friend to see it (the only reason he agreed is because he has a borderline unhealthy love for film) and afterwards we both had a plethora of good things to say. I loved it, there were a few diversions from reality for the sake of tension and drama, but overall it presented a fantastic story. My friend said it did a good job of filling in anyone who didn't know what F1 was like so that way the movie didn't go completely over their heads (and he was genuinely shocked and unprepared for the events at the 'Ring and Fuji) and made for a gripping film to watch. Bruhl's performance as Lauda was phenomenal and I felt like he was truly the character and not just a man pretending to be someone else. Hemsworth pulled off Hunt's playboy attitude as if it was second nature, and gives girlfriends a reason to see the film with their boyfriends. My complaint was the overview of the season, and how they would show very short clips from the race and then overlay the final result without giving any real taste of the action. Although when they did show action it more than delivered. Both of us agreed it's a movie worth the price of admission, and my friend even said that he thought Bruhl should at least receive a possible nod from the Academy (although that probably won't happen).

TL;DR- MOVIE GOOD, EVEN NON-CAR PEOPLE THINK SO.
